Canadian Mountain Network's Knowledge Sharing Summit

The Salmon Knowledge Hub, administered by the Council of Yukon First Nations, attended the Canadian Mountain Network’s Knowledge Sharing Summit in Parksville, September 25 to 27.

The Salmon Knowledge Hub, administered by the Council of Yukon First Nations, attended the Canadian Mountain Network’s Knowledge Sharing Summit in Parksville, B.C. The Summit’s theme was Moving Mountains through Braiding Knowledge.

The Hub presented on the Annual Salmon Ceremony and Gatherings hosted over the last 2 years and Hub partnered research. This included a virtual gathering, an on the land gathering at Tatchun Creek cohosted with Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation and a partial gathering at Moosehide cohosted with Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in that was cancelled due to forest fires. Partnered research includes studying juvenile Chinook habitat in the Yukon River and coming research looking at cumulative effects indicators to monitor for salmon.
